Approved Motion: That the Board of Education of School District No. 61 (Greater Victoria) approve the Audited Financial Statements of School District No. 61 (Greater Victoria) for the year ended June 30, 2021; and that the Board Chair, the Superintendent and the Secretary-Treasurer be authorized to execute these statements, where applicable, on behalf of the Board.

Action: The Board approved the Audited Financial Statements for the year end June 30, 2021 and submitted to the Ministry of Education.


Approved Motion: That the Board of Education of School District No. 61 (Greater Victoria) approve the schedules as required by the Financial Information Act for the period July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021; AND FURTHER That the approved schedules be posted to the District website.

Action: The schedules have been submitted to the Ministry of Education and posted to the District website.


Approved Motion: That the Board of Education of School District No. 61 (Greater Victoria) receive the Interim Superintendent's report as presented.

Action: The Superintendent's Report was received as presented.


Approved Motion: That the Board of Education of School District No. 61 (Greater Victoria) approve the Framework for Enhancing Student Learning, as presented.

Action: The Framework for Enhancing Student Learning was approved as presented.


Approved Motion: That the Board of Education of School District No. 61 (Greater Victoria) receive the Secretary- Treasurer's report as presented.

Action: The Secretary-Treasurer's Report was received as presented.


Approved Motion: That the Board of Education of School District No. 61 (Greater Victoria) reconsider the May 17, 2021 Bylaw reading #1 disposing of 7.3 acres of Lansdowne Middle School lands to School District No. 93.

Action: No action required.


Approved Motion: That the Board of Education of School District No. 61 (Greater Victoria) approves: 路 the disposal of a 7.3 acre portion of School District property municipally known as 1765 Lansdowne Road, Saanich, BC and legally described as: PID: 005-852-962, Lot A Section 27 Victoria District Plan 6679 (the 鈥淧roperty鈥); 路 the entering into and completion of the obligations contained in an agreement of purchase and sale (the 鈥淧urchase and Sale Agreement鈥) in respect of the Property with Conseil Scolaire Francophone de la Colombie-Britannique (the 鈥淧urchaser鈥) in the amount of $15,232,000 more or less; 路 the granting of authority for the Purchaser, acting in the name of the Board or otherwise, to advance certain zoning, subdivision, and development related amendments to the Property with the District of Saanich and other third parties prior to completion of the disposal of the Property; 路 the taking of all such action and the execution and delivery of all such documentation ancillary to, or related to, the foregoing; and 路 the authorization of the Secretary-Treasurer to execute and deliver, on behalf of the Board, the Purchase and Sale Agreement and all such amendments thereto and all related and ancillary documents as the Secretary-Treasurer may, in her discretion, consider advisable. The Board confirms that the Board will not require the Property for future educational purposes. Read a first time the 27th day of September, 2021;

Action: The Board gave the first reading to Bylaw No. 2021-03: Disposal of Surplus Land located at 1765 Lansdowne Road.

Approved Motion: That revised Bylaw 9140, Ad Hoc Committee of the Board be: Read a second time the 27th day of September, 2021; Read a third time, passed and adopted, the 27th day of September, 2021.

Action: Revised Bylaw 9140, Ad Hoc Committee of the Board has been updated on the District website.


Approved Motion: That the Board of Education of School District No. 61 (Greater Victoria) temporarily vary Board Bylaws 9130.1 The Education Policy and Directions Committee and 9130.2 The Operations Policy and Planning Committee membership from four trustees to nine trustees for the remainder of the Board鈥檚 term ending November 2022.

Action: The Board voted in favour of temporarily varying Bylaws 9130.1 and 9130.2 until the end of this Board's term, November 22, 2021. The proposed changes will come to a future meeting.
